6 Weeks In

It has been six weeks since the Malaysian government declared the Restriction of Movement. It started on 18 March 2020 and has been extended till 12 May 2020.

I didn’t think much about it as I have always been working from home. Occasionally I would go out for meetings, work from cafes with a good cup of coffee and you know just out with family and friends for meals or random shopping needs. So I thought, hey this is just my normal routine. But boy was I so wrong.

I had recently acquired a new client and things got really hectic. The project was only supposed to kickstart in April but things shifted, we started a few days after the lockdown. Everything was ad-hoc. Tried our best to accommodate, sourced images online and bam! We have been BUSY! We had many influencers on board, it is a success. ROI met daily.

Things at home got pretty hectic too. Our helper of 25 years went back for good early this year. So all chores were split between some of us. On top of that, I have to cook at least one meal per day. I also help to babysit my nieces. I get really knackered at the end of the day.

Some days are good, some days are just plain crazy with emotions going whack. My fiance arrived in KL a day after the RMO, yet I can’t meet him. It’s sad to have him back but not be able to even hug him. But Insyallah, Allah has better plans for us all.

Wedding plans have taken a halt as there are so many uncertainties with all the new restrictions. So tomorrow, I will call the Pejabat Agam to find out about when are kursus made available again, the restricted number of attendees for events and more.

There is an influx of high and lows in a week to go through this quarantine period but I am grateful to be able to stay safe while the nation fights for a better future. Our earth seems happier and cleaner. There is always a blessing in disguise.

Stay strong everyone and safe!
