Mondayitis Wise Words

The internet is my playground, the streets are my turf, fashion is my aphrodisiac.

This was an image that I had saved on Tumblr many moons ago. Yes, I am of the Tumblr generation. I had Friendster and Multiply as well.
I also saved it onto my Pinterest board called Of Places.
Why did I save it? I’ve always been captivated by the beauty of a carousel and I love horses. They are strong and sexy. Wild and free yet loyal.
Every time I spot a carousel, I would stop and snap a picture. This image was also my phone’s background for the longest time.
Six years ago today I was on our family’s Euro trip. I saw a beautiful carousel opposite the Eiffel Tower. It was cold and the sun was setting. I crossed the street and stood right there. I took out my camera and shot this image below.

Little did I realize, it was the exact carousel. God willing, I made it to the exact place. Indeed I am a lucky being. Alhamdulillah for the chance to capture this.
Beautiful ain’t it? My father loves this picture. He comments on it every time he comes across it.

So much truth in this. The lies and stories I have heard is amazing. But that’s between you and Allah SWT. Fitnah stays forever and evil past your death. That isn’t my burden but yours.

Critique is like therapy for your work. Don’t take it all at face value, but plot the feedback in your brain like a heatmap and build new neural pathways to objectively examine yourself and your creations on the regular.
