I was an IT student back in university yet I work in the advertising world. Nope, I’m not doing programming or designing. Well I was back then, but not anymore. I’ve move to the front end. I’ve switch over to the account management team.

Why the drastic leap? I wanted to explore new things, new horizon and learn aspects that I don’t know. Why get too comfortable they say. Challenging myself is something I enjoy and tend to do. It keeps me motivated. Not just that, I get more human interaction. Meet new people. It keeps the job interesting.

It wasn’t easy at the beginning (it still isn’t) but hey, I’ve to start somewhere right. Asking, referring and googling was some of the methods that I used to learn how to understand my work. Another good tip is to not limit yourself to just your job scope.

It’s totally up to the individual whether they want to learn or just rest on their rurals. I’ve had one too many encounters with people who are not willing to learn or just so up their ass with their paper qualification. Yes, its awesome when you’ve bag yourself a degree or an MBA. But that is not the way to measure sucess or even life.

Life is a never ending journey of learning. You never stop learning. So if you limit yourself…you’re at lost.
