I’ve lost two grandfathers, one grandmother, one step-grandmother, an uncle and a few friends throughout my 25 years.

Most of it was shocking. Some was a painful process. Nonetheless, it hurts. I miss them. It’s painful to watch them slip away from you.

Today, I watched a dear aunt of mine laying on the bed with all sorts of tubes going through her nose and mouth. It looked painful. But she didn’t budge. Called out her name with no response. She’s in the deepest sleep known to man, coma. I miss how jovial she was. Making jokes. Remembering going for Hari Raya at her place. How she loves coming over to our house. Eating the cookies I made.

There was this one time, when I was much younger. I served her my burnt cookies and she still at them with a big smile on her face.

As I was sitting next to her with a Yasin in hand. I thought I saw her moving her head. I thought I saw it twice. Maybe am delusional at that point. But even my dad said he saw it. My dad touched her hand. There was no response.

Family members have gathered. Hoping she will fight. Hoping for a miracle.

I’ve learn my lesson. I won’t let the people I love slip away. I will cherish each and everyone of my family members and friends. I won’t hold back in love. We will never know when our time is up or theirs for all that matters.

I love my family. I love my friends. I love you.

We watched When in Rome. I think it’s one of the most best romantic comedy. It’s just hillarious.

Josh Duhamel played the character of Nick. He is the sweetest guy ever. Never giving up on the girl of his dream. He kept his face and played his game real well. What happened to men? Why aren’t there any like him?! I could use a Nick right now.

Kristen Bell played the character of Beth. The career minded girl who is doing so well with her job. Loving it to pieces. Never making time for love. I remember this quote she said “If he is more important than my job, then I am in love”. How true. How appropriate.

I truly enjoyed the movie. Yea it may be something that has an ending you can predict. Yet there are the goofy moments and the mystery to it as well.

Was out with some viral infection and a shockingly low BP of 80/60. Crazy stuff.

So it was my friend’s birthday last night. Met up with him and another superbly old friend of mine. Aizat came along. It was pure fun. As usual, I was one of the boys. They were calling me bro. How insane is that! Story of my life.

Well anyways, back to popmyberry. My “abang” and I wanted to drop by together because I was looking for a new rubber casing while he was looking for a screen protector. Because I showed him mine So meeting point was in Subang. Felt like home driving back into familiar territory. Hehe.

The shop’s pretty sweet. Everything is super organized. But sadly they don’t have that much accessories for my baby yet. I love the colourful holsters that they have instore. The place was also deserted, dark and far out from the city. So the handphone became very handy if my parents were late. Unfortunately when I started using handphones, there was only fixed lines offered. Maxis and Celcom were the only service provider back then. I opted for Maxis. The price of a phone call was a shocking 60sen per second I think. There was still no SMS. I could get service SMS but no SMS sending services then. My very first phone was a blue Alcatel One Touch. Hehe. What a chunky monkey with an antenna that stretches out as well.

A few years after that, they introduced the SMS. I tell you, that was when I was extremely happy. Then came out the Prepaid also. How cool was that. I gave that a try. I tried the Celcom prepaid and also the TimeCel prepaid. Eventually I bought a Maxis prepaid. Well back to the SMS technology, at that time you could only text to your fellow network users. So it was only Celcom to Celcom and Maxis to Maxis. Then I remembered at 16, it was a full blown SMS technology where we could SMS to anyone on any network. I went crazy and that was when my texting obsession kicked in. I was then using a Siemens handphone, it was tiny and had a small antenna. It was dark blue in colour. It could fit so nicely in my pencil case or my small handbags. Those small bags were so fashionable back then.

When I was 17, there was a new craze. The different colour back lights for handphones. First was the blue light, then came the greenish light then the white light. I then had the blue light phone. A Nokia, my very first one. It was small compact and it had Polyphonic ringtones. My god, that was just uber cool at that time. I could also change the casing according to my outfit. It was pure bliss. Oh, the keypad was shaped like a butterfly something I like too. I also love the colour turquoise, so yes this was a perfect match for me. At that point of time, we were introduced with emoticons and also “picture messaging”. Some were templates and some were images drawn using the symbols. It was mighty awesome. Hehe.

Then came the big leap in life, when we all stopped seeing things in monochrome. The coloured handphone. Up next was the camera phone. MMS was going places. So, I got myself a Nokia 7250. Interchangeable casing, with polyphonic ringtones, camera and colour screen. It was a prize possession to own such a cool phone. I had a few casings as well. Purple, grey and turquoise. I was a happy girl. Oh, my friends and I went on a photo frenzy. We seem to be taking pictures of our daily lives. It was a lot of fun.

If you thought that it would all end there, you were wrong. Next up I got a Nokia 6230. It was the first ever that had an expandable external memory. It was pretty sleek as well. Changeable cover as well. I could install games, upload mp3s to listen to and take more photos as there was more storage.

Since I just love handphones, gadgets and what nots. I was always following up with technology and everything new. It was then when I fell in love with a slider phone. It was just cool to me. It had even more features now. I could install themes too. There was also a small little caller image. It was the Nokia 6270. This phone lasted me so long. Had so many new things I could do with. I had special ringtones for every group. I edited my own ringtones. Hehe. Talk about semangat.

But sadly my trusty phone came to an end. Everything was going wrong with it. Couldn’t receive calls but could receive texts. I had to let it go. So I was hunting for a new phone at that time and the Motorola E6 Rokr was out at that time. Sadly they didn’t sell it in Australia. My heart was locked on it already at that point of time. It was just rocking with awesome features. So, I bought one on ebay. I was quite happy with it. Though the camera wasn’t so good. It was cool to join the Motorola band wagon. Not only cause I wanted to join the band wagon, the name had it’s on meaning to me as well.  I didn’t realize I was a klutz, I kept losing and misplacing my stylus. So I gave in and hunted for something else.

I got yet another good deal on ebay and got myself a Samsung U700. It was the prettiest thing ever. Silver, mirror function, slider, slim, 3G and the whole works. I love it to bits. I used it for such a long period before it crapped out on me of old age. But man, I love this phone. It says me in so many ways.

A good phone came to it’s last breath. So what next? I went back to Nokia. As they had this really cool QWERTY handphone. The E71. I liked it cause it had the QWERTY keypad, 3G, MMS, mp3, camera, applications and many more. Oh and also the name had a special meaning to me. But little did I know, updates were needed ever so often and it kept screwing me over. It’s still the phone am using as it is really practical and useful. User friendly too.

I know and I already feel the urge to get a new phone. I have a solid reason to it, which I shall not disclose here. I have no idea what to turn to. I want something that has everything and yet not too out there. Not too common. Not too flashy. Something I can use for work and play. Any suggestions?

Happy 59th Birthday Ayah!

I’ve always loved the store as they have reasonable clothes. Their cardigans are just pure love. They also have a wide range of ballet flats by Rubi Shoes.

I had the chance to pay the store a visit. I had high hopes as I approached the store. Was hoping to hear them blast out loud elctro funk music. They used to play them real loud back in Brissy. Got closer to the store, it didn’t exactly have the same feel but yet they kept it cramp. Just like the original ones ;p

Clothes were still hang in dozens. The mass production was still their game plan. Great. Loving the wide range of basics. But…their stocks seems old. Not many new pieces. I’ve seen those shorts and those tank top back in 2oo7. Wonder why? Is this like DFO?

Rubi Shoes were their top sellers. Even I wanted to buy a couple of pairs. I managed to hold myself back. Hehe. My shoe rack is out of space for newbies. Perhaps soon. But I did by a few basics. I eyed this pair of sneakers, it has this laid back feel about it. It’s not a need for now, but when I have the extra beans. Am definitely coming back for them babies.

You must be wondering why right now. Well, I love the illustrations. It reminds me so much of Hed Kandi’s images. It’s just so pretty. The girls in the images are so lanky and stylish. They should be as the game is based in the European continent.

Ever since I started playing the games, I’ve been hocked on it. It’s rather challenging with very informative beauty and fashion tips. Am a sucker for them I tell ya ;p Not only that, I keep on wanting to beat my own high scores.

With the birthday girl

A week ago, my girlfriends and I decided to have a lil surprise celebration for Liza. We wanted to have a picnic yet most of us weren’t free. So a meet up over tea was what we settled for. It was held at the perfectly pretty location of Garden Cafe, One Utama.

I’ve been wanting to go there since forever. It always looked so pretty.  A secret garden well hidden deep within a hustling bustling mall. Sounds perfect to me. So off us girls went there, got some hats and blowers to surprise Liz and not to forget a mini cake ;p The cake was so small yet cute. Just the right size for the five of us.

Liz was turning 24. Just like the rest of us. We waited ever so patiently for her to arrive. But she spotted us on her way in. Dang, but oh well. She was so shy and stunt when we took out the cake and sang for her the birthday song. Hehe.

It was truly a simple suprise but the crowd was what matters most to us. We had a super duper great time. Oh let me mention to you that the food there was great. The portion was big. And…the deco was so lovely. I’ve always been a fan of country deco. Just the way my house is. So going into a wooden white English country garden was so magical for me.  A few of my gfs were talking about throwing a wedding there. It would look really nice there. To the Urbanscapes community, Freeform as a responsible festival organiser, would like to update you with some info on the Urbanscapes H1N1 scare that is making the rounds. These are the actual facts that we are aware of at this point in time:

There has been one confirmed case of an individual who was at the festival who is down with H1N1, while another three individuals from the same group of friends, is undergoing another round of tests. We want to stress that this group of individuals hung out together throughout the weekend from Friday evening onwards. At this juncture, we are not aware of any other cases beyond this group of individuals. Most of the updates we have received so far from those who have gone to get tested have turned up negative.

But as a precaution and also as responsible members of the community, we recommend you go for a check-up as soon as possible if you are displaying symptoms. If you are feeling unwell, please stay clear of public spaces and practice a self-imposed quarantine for the benefit of your family and friends. We would also like to stress that being on quarantine does NOT mean you are infected, but you are merely being a responsible citizen by taking the right precautions to prevent spreading any infections.

We will continue to update everyone via Urbanscapes as we get more information coming in. To also keep anxiety at bay and keep everyone from being unduly worried, we would appreciate any updates from those who gone for tests so that we can share the info with all.

Urbanscapes

Urbanscapes.

It was the first time ever I attended Urbanscapes and I actually participated. I had a booth under LahLahLand. I was selling my jujuwiwitata’s goodies.

I’ve always loved KLPAC, someone very very special took me there once. I’ve never been there with anyone else. Well, except for my little brother who is now officially my partner in crime. We go everywhere together. He has helped me out a lot in many ways. I owe you little man.

So yea, back to Urbanscapes. It was such a pretty place. Nicely decorated, colourful and cheerful. The marketplace where my booth was setup on the other hand was blazing on fire. It was hot. Our lots were on a tar road. Imagine how hot it was. But there were boys and girls who wore hoodies, cardigans, jackets and what nots. Perhaps, I was the only one feeling the heat ;p

I met a lot of my friends there. A bunch of my friends came to support me. Unfortunately they could not purchase anything from my stall as I do not sell items for male. Soon boys, soon. I promise. Am already working it out with my brother.

I missed out all the fun at Urbanscapes because I had to take care of my booth. So am thinking perhaps next year, I’ll do shifts with my brother and get a few of his friends to help as well.

But all in all, I think Urbanscapes is a great outdoor event. Well organized. A great way to escape from the hustling bustling busy world.
