A lot of things happened lately. Some good, some bad.

During my long Chinese New Year holiday, my family and I went on an impromptu trip to Penang. Oh Penang and it’s glorious and scrumptious food. It was purely a gamble. Confirmed the plans that night and off we went. No hotel bookings no nothing! Had to scout around for hotels. Most were fully booked. But we managed to get a small room in the city.

The trip was fun. Good rest. It was also the very first time I did a long distance drive in my little princess. Dad said am all grown up now :P

Line Clear - A must!

My mum and I

Oh yes, am so sorry for the slow updates. My domain got hacked last week. Lucky for me, my big brother is a whizz. He fixed it. So am still blogging here. Alhamdulillah.

Btw, I was wondering…should I post more of my daily outfit pictures or stuff like that? What say you?

Last Friday

Last Friday was a really fun working night for me and my team.

My company had a Chinese Year End Appreciatian Dinner. It was held at the exclusive Bankers Club. It’s a penthouse at the Amoda Building. The place was really stunning. Felt like I was in one of the many parties hosted in Gossip Girl. Hehe. Here are some images for your viewing pleasure.

This is my team. Coronar.

Tired

I am so tired. Been going to Palace of The Golden Horses for the past two days.

The hours are late and we reach there at the wee hours. I need to get some rest. I’ve got so much to tell. I miss my friends too. Oh yes, I think somebody punctured my tyre today. I left it at the office since 6am. I came back with a flat!

How horrible! There goes my money. Another trip to the tyre specialist cry

Recap

As mention in my previous post, I was to begin a new chapter in life. Hehe. Which actually meant, I got a job.

Work has been alright for now. Just that I don’t exactly know my job scope just yet. For now am suppose to handle the English and Malay media. Which I’ve done great. Connections are getting stronger cause I try to make them feel appreciated and contact them personally not blasting out mass emails.

The first week itself was busy for me. It was the company’s annual dinner and book launch. Lucky for me, I made many new friends in an instant. It was fine yet tiring. Hours were long, weekend was filled.

Though things were new for me. Trying to adapt to all this. I did slot in time for my friends. Erika and Ija was back from Brissy for a holiday. Nisa, Amad and Nisa’s sister Nurul, and her bf came down for a visit. So we had a lil get together. Brissy style, which meant a BBQ!

It was a lot of fun, catching up with all of my old friends. Loads of laughter and I finally learnt how to play tai-ti. A cook out is always fun.

Til the next round of BBQ and fun time!

TGME

TGME, YOU ROCK MY SOCKS!

Hehe. Although I was so late. I did go for the sole purpose of supporting you “kiddies”. Sorry yea. Will try to be there on time the next time.

It was a great night out. It was simple and short with the nearest and dearest. Oh let’s not forget the creepy 51 year old dude that tried to hit on us. Saying girls need to have great hair and pretty pearls. That’s all a guy looks for. WTH!

Like seriously dude, you are 51! A wife at home with so many kids. Argh.

But nevertheless, it was fun. Finally hit The Library. I must say it’s totally over-rated. Sardine pack, though we had seats. It’s just not to my liking. Too many people. Oh yes, Johanna was right. There’s no freaking hot, cute guys left in KL! It was such a let down, no hotties to go feast our eyes on. Shish.

It’s a holiday tomorrow. I can wake up late. Yeay. But then again, I’ve to work. Charity event. Not just that, I’ve an engagement to attend and perhaps partying that night as well. Saturday’s a working day. Can I pull it off yo? I hardly doubt it. Til tomorrow comes. Nights!

Dear Santa

Dear Santa,

I have been a very good girl this year. I know that for a fact to be honest. I’ve been doing all my chores. Saying my prayers. Being an obedient child. A great sister. An awesome friend. Helping others and many more.

I’ve been so nice to others that I have been taken for granted more than once. I’ve been hurt too.

So please Santa, grant me three of my wishes.

1. A new shiny toy. It’ll keep me happy for a long time.

2. A holiday with my friends and family.

3. A token…of appreciation.

That’s not much right Santa? A girl would normally ask for oh so many things. But this is all I want for now.

Thank you.

xx

p/s: I don’t have a chimney so I’ll open my window just for you. I’ll bake you chocolate chip cookies and a nice warm mug of milk. I’ll even leave some of my favourite marshmallows for you.

Late At Night

It’s pretty late. Just finished watching a DVD. I’ve got things on my mind. Am happy yet sad at the same time.

My ex colleague just PMed me saying that the EHM2009 won a gold medal for the Effie Awards. Boy oh boy am I proud. I really didn’t expect it. It was a passion based project that I worked on. CSR, the earth and charity has always been something that I love doing.

I was one of the two Project Managers for that project. I knew that when I sent in my email to TKE, my director thought I didn’t know what I was getting myself into. Perhaps I was even a joke to them. But as I said, it’s based on my passion and my previous work with Unilever. I took it on.

I first discussed it with him when I got the blast email from TKE. He told me to give it a shot. Do something that I loved. So, I took the plunge and dove right into it. There were times when I myself thought I was kidding myself. I wanted to give up, wanted to hand the title over to someone else. He never failed to encourage me, telling me to prove everyone around me that they were wrong. Some ex-colleagues thought I was crazy enough to take that job as it was FOC. I had to sacrifice a lot of my personal time for it. It was good that I took it up. It occupied me during my lonelier days.

Having said all that, it was truly a remarkable experience. Working closely with WWF and all the top guns of LB. This little girl did leave her impact. I can do things bigger than me.

But as am typing away, deep inside…I wish I could share the joy I have over this award with him. I felt like texting him. Would he care? Perhaps not. So I shall share it with anybody who would be proud enough of me. This little girl who is trying to make it big in her very own life.

30th Anniversary

Last week was a rather hectic one for me. My siblings and I were getting ready for our parent’s 30th anniversary.

As a gift, we threw them a surprise BBQ party. It was for the nearest and dearest.

Planning was easy and fun. Executing them plans on the other hand wasn’t as much fun. Going through ayah and ibu’s handphones to get their friend’s numbers. Texting and calling them to inform about it. The worst part was to wait upon the RSVP.  Let’s not get started on that. Ayah knew about it and contribute beans and a lot of help. Especially in driving around his knackered daughter. Ibu on the other hand was clueless.

It was difficult to get ibu out of the house as it’s Ramadhan and not to forget the crazy H1N1 scene. We now try our best to stay indoors.

I got my auntie, Nde Suzie to help us out. She came down from Seremban and took Ibu out. It all went well. Though there were loadsa bumps along the way.

Guests came on time. More turn ups than the RSVP. Sigh. Most of the food was done by me. Punch was done by my lil brother, Aizat and the mee curry was done by our maid, Kak Umi. I marinated the lamb, beef, chicken and hotdog. I also made the potato pie, salad, chocolate dipping for the marshmallow and my very famous trifle.

I had a lot of fun that night though I was totally knackered and did look tired. Am glad that everyone who came had enough to eat and enjoyed themselves.

Happy 30th Anniversary, Ayah & Ibu!
