Make-up Heaven!

I love make-up! I really do. I love having fun exploring and experimenting with it. I can create many different looks to suit my mood or to match my outfit.

If am in a real rush, I will at least define my brows and curl my lashes. Why so? This perks up the face in an instant. I also believe that the eyes are the window to beauty. Plus it doesn’t hurt to make yourself look prettier.

I bet every girl owns at least a type of cosmetic. Be it a lipstick or an eyeliner. You’d at least have one.

Have you ever wondered if your make-up has gone south? Make-ups don’t come with an expiry date like food. But the lifespan of it begins the moment you opened it. It’s rather difficult to tell to be honest. But I’ve come up with a list to help us make-up fans out there know when we should trash it.

Foundation : 12-18 months

Concealer : 12-18months

Powder : 2 years

Blush/Bronzer : 18 months

Cream Blush : 12-18 months

Eyeliner : 18 months

Liquid Eyeliner : 6 months

Mascara : 3-6 months

Eye Shadow : 18 months

Lip Liner : 18-24 months

Lipstick/Lip Gloss : 18-24 months

Nail Polish : 2-3 years

Perfume : 2-3 years

Eye Cream : 1 year

Moisturizer : 12-18 months

Sunscreen : 2-3 years

Lotion : 2-3 years

Make-up Sponge : Wash after each use. Dispose every month

How you take care of your cosmetics are important as well. Here are some of my tips on taking care of them.

• Don’t share make-up with others.
• Always cap them well.
• Keep them in a cool and dry place. Away from direct sunlight.
