Self Love

“Self-love,

my liege,

is not so vile a sin as self-neglecting.”

This year was an eye opener for me, well to be honest it was last month that really left a huge impact on me. My big eyes opened up even bigger O-O haha.

Spending my days visiting the doctors was no fun for me. Feeling sick. Lethargic. Sleepless nights and the whole works was not funny to me. I have not been taking good care of myself lately. Been caught up with too many things. It was all spilling from my bowl.

Reality check and I had medical check which I willingly went for. Well actually I cried my eyes out saying I couldn’t take it anymore. Waking up with a bad case of stomach cramps, needing to eat in the middle of the night. I was just too tired. I wanted to just flop and rest. Which I did get. The doctors gave me a week’s worth of MC.

I’ll talk more about what’s wrong with me in a different post. Maybe I’ll add the gross images that I have of it as well ;p

Nowadays I treat myself well. I pamper myself silly as I have realized that there’s nobody to give me some TLC (tender loving care). So Juwita has to give Juwita some TLC. Thus that’s what am doing now. I go for a weekly wash and blow at any saloons. Does not matter if their expensive or top notch. I just like to get the free neck massages and the light headed feeling after a good blow dry. On a monthly or forth nightly basis, I’d go for a hair spa at Michael & Guys. Their pretty good.

I’ve also lost the ability to cut my own nails ;p Just kidding. I’ve been going in for a couple of manicure sessions. I get them painted and just let myself be treated like a princess. Tried out a pedicure for the first time in my life and all I can say is that am going again. It’s just so relaxing.

Last weekend I took a trip to the reflexology center. As they were massaging my feet it did hurt a lot. But it only hurts at my tummy part. Which is where I am having problems now. I guess my tummy problems are pretty severe. I’ll fix you my little big tummy.

All in all, I want to start loving myself. I also believe that a man loves a woman who takes good care of themselves.

David Archuleta Live in Malaysia

the stage

the stage

American Idol’s cutie pie was down in Malaysia for a showcase. I am not a fan of him. For real, I love R&B and soul. So this was not exactly my cup of tea.

Yet, it was my mum’s birthday. She is a huge fan of David Archuleta, so I went through the hassle of getting her the tickets. Sources said it was not for sale. You have to win it to get it. So, winning it was. Though I must say thank you to my friend who won it for me. Thanks man.

The showcase was to be held at Sunway Amphitheatre. I drove us to Sunway Pyramid, grabbed lunch did a bit of shopping and finally left for the showcase. I have not visited Sunway Lagoon for a long time and it has change so much. The deco was different and there were more entrance now.

We had to wait with the fans to board the free shuttle bus to get to the Elephant Walk. Finally, I picked up the tickets from the Hitz FM crew. The walk to the theatre was definitely far. We had to walk downhill.

the massive crowd

the massive crowd

Finally got there to see a massive crowd flooding to the brims. And there I was thinking that there would not be such a crowd as tickets were not sold. Boy was I wrong. It was difficult to spot for a place so we ended up seating on the red bricks that had plants in them. Safely pushing the plants aside, I landed my ass on the bricks.

The were so many people. I think there was about 3000 people where as the theatre could only hold 1000. Imagine how pack, hot and smelly it was. There I was seated on the brick with a bored face.

It took me down memory lane. I remembered the days when I went there with my high school friends. I was there for The Moffats, 98 degrees, 911 and Shaggy. My my I sure loved free concerts don’t I? Hehe. It then made me realise that I might be a little too old for this. Indeed I was right. I looked around me to find so many young kids especially girls who were madly in love with David Archuleta. Some even had banners that says “Marry Me!”. Cute.

The wait was long before he finally came on stage to perform. He was awesome. Not being a fan and saying this…he truly is a great singer. He sounded exactly like his album. That’s crazy but so true. There was no off pitch, no lack of breathe. He was perfect. He did about 6 songs if I can remember. Only 2 that I know from his album. He also played the piano and serenaded the crowd with his sweet voice.

The showcase was less than an hour but it was worth the wait. Then it was time to leave, and the rain was still pouring. No choice we had to go. Walked in the drizzling rain and finally found some shelter. Got dad to rescue us and send us to the car. Lucky us, he was also in Subang.

Malaysian F1 GP

FIA Formula One World Championship better known as Formula One or F1. I must confess that I have always been a massive fan. I have been watching it every chance I have. Except during 2007 when I was in Brissy. The stupid black box was always conquered. I did not bother watching. Just read the FX newspaper.

F1 is the world’s highest class auto racing and is the most expensive sports in the world. That figures. You don’t need a genius to tell you that.

The first F1 was in 1950, won by an Italian, Giuseppe Farina who drove an Alfa Romeo. Juan Manual Fangio held the first record of five world championship titles for 45 years until Michael Schumacher broke the record by winning his sixth title in 2003.

As for 2009’s season, there will be 17 races around the globe. Malaysia was the second circuit that all ten teams would be competing against one another at. Brawn is a team that we should seriously pay attention too. They’re doing very well this season.

This year I was lucky enough to be able to actually watch the race firsthand at the track itself. My dad took his boys which was my lil brother and I. It was truly a dream come true for me. I’ve only been able to watch the race from the comfort of my house. I was so very ecstatic when I heard this news. I started doing my research on the ticket pricing, comparing the prices with the view and also trying to get some sponsors. Hehe. When we finally decided on the ticket that we wanted to buy, I eagerly drove my dad to KL Sentral to purchase them.

I have been supporting McLaren for as long as I can remember. Yes they have had their ups and downs but am going to be loyal and stick to them no matter what. Having a skillful and uber cute drive named Lewis Hamilton is a bonus point for me. It makes the race all the more interesting ;p

Saturday, 4th April finally came and it was time for the qualifying. The drive was long and far but it was worth every minute. The circuit was just spectacular. We walked around the whole circuit. We checked out the booths before going to our seats. We walked from end to end. The row of green seats, the black tar of the track, the roaring fierce sound of the car’s engine and the colourful sea of fans.

Hamilton did not do so well for the qualifying. Oh I forgot to mention, I bumped into Kaiyisah who was working with SIC.

The next day was THE DAY! The race day. Wohoooo! Finally. We left home for the track pretty early to avoid the jam. But the jam was there to great us. We spotted our cousin in another car and started waving to each other. We were stuck in the jam for almost an hour. We saw a couple of guys running out of the car into the nearest available bushes to pee. Haha. What a funny sight I tell ya.

Go there in good time, just enough for me to go buy my Satay. I’ve wanted it since yesterday. Usually am not such a big fan of satay. Sudden cravings I think. Got two seats of satay and a hotdog set for lil brother.  Crazy right? People go there for the race and here I am excited over the food. Hehe.

There were so many people; it was a collision of the chests and the asses. Haha. Even the lines for the food stall were long. Got to our seats alright. The view was great. A few corners and a long stretch of road for them to zoom pass us. I love the corners because I love the sound of the roaring gear drops.

An hour after the races, it started raining cats and dogs. Damn. They have only raced for 32 laps and the race had ended when they waved the red flag. Sigh. I was so disappointed.  Hamilton was just about to bring his A game on.

It was pouring and I my washing machine tummy started. Jamiroquai was playing in a few hours. Before him was my all time favourite Indonesian group, Malique and de Essentials. I really wanted to enjoy their performance but I couldn’t risk my tummy. I’ve been paying a lot of visit to the doctors lately. I did not want to fall sick or get any worst than where I was. So instead, I jumped behind my wheels and drove off to LCCT to get some dinner.

Dinner was good. Rest my aching feet for a while before heading home. On my way home, I rolled down my window and listened to Jay Kay performing. Live in Kuala Lumpur. It was still raining, I did not feel like getting drenched in the rain and falling sick with a fever the next day. My phone kept buzzing with texts asking me “Where are you?”. I guess my friends know that I have been looking forward for Jay Kay. Sorry guys. I can’t stand more visits to the docs no more.

Am most definitely looking forward to next years F1 or perhaps Singapore’s night race. Hoping to level up to better seats next year. Go team McLaren.

Here’s the results of the race for Malaysian F1 GP.

1st – Jensen Button (Brawn Mercedes)
2nd – Nick Heidfeld (BMW Sauber)

Night Time Poem

When the Sun says goodbye,
The Moon says hello,
When the Night comes,
I feel so alone and scared.

Everything slows down,
But I just want to move faster.
Can I?

Lights go off,
It’s time to say good night.

I lie in bed,
So awake.

I wish to hear your voice,
Whispering the words of a lullaby,
Stroking my night black hair.

I dream of my good night calls,
Instead I lie awake.

When will I smile asleep?

Good night.

The Decision

Did you ponder over the decision? Did I leave you hanging?

Fret not, the decision was to leave my current job as a Content Engineer cum Web Developer with ARC Worldwide/Leo Burnett.

Am just in need of a breather. Going to push jujuwiwitata’s to a higher level. Start studying again. Venture to a different field of professionalism. My mind needs to flow it’s creative juices once again. Get recognized and appreciated. So anybody wanna hire a Wonderwoman? I have a pretty impressive CV to be honest.

The Past, The Present and The Future

“Face your past without regret. Handle your present with confidence. Prepare for the future without fear.”

The past is the previous chapter in my life that has moulded me into the person that I am in the present. The present me is the one that will decide what I will be in the near future.

My past has been a helluva roller-coaster ride and I ain’t kidding you. Am learning a lot from it for now. It’s something I carry around for my present. This would be my guide to be a better me, to be smarter and not be fooled by it yet again. Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice, shame on me. I have some regrets from the past but I try not to dwell on it too much. I wish I did things differently to prevent what is happening now. I’ve made my mistakes and I have definitely learnt my lesson.

As for my present, am trying to be optimistic about it and looking at it from a different perspective. Am taking life on a different approach nowadays. Slowly I’ll get there. It ain’t so bad, but I have been better. Now I see things much clearer and I think that the decisions that I have just made will *Insyallah* make my future brighter.

A thing about me is that, I tend not to do anything stupid that would jeapordize the future me. I do not want to be labelled by any sort. To have regrets in the future. I believe in karma. Words spreads, that’s what am preventing from happening in the mere future.

The future, is something that I will embrace bravely with a confident smile and graceful poise. I know someday I’ll be where I want with what I deserve in life.

As for now, am going to hold on and keep the faith and promises that I have made for my future. Future behold!!! Juwita’s on her way there ;p
